#96 - Studio’s Biggest Promise Isn’t Live Yet
In this issue, we’ll look into the biggest Team ’25 Europe announcement and what to do in the meantime.
Two weeks ago, we took a closer look at Rovo Studio . Does it deliver all the features that were announced back at Atlassian Team ’25 in Anaheim in May? The answer was simple: no .
But let’s take another look today – just a couple of days after new announcements at Team ’25 Europe.
What’s Rovo Studio, and Where is It?
When Atlassian’s CEO Mike Cannon-Brookes took the stage and unveiled all the new Rovo features, the audience went wild. We looked at each other with wide eyes, amazed by the idea that we’d be able to create Forge apps for Confluence without writing a single line of code. Finally, everyone who has an idea for an app can create one!. It’s vibe coding but in a precisely defined environment.
But then came the catch. That feature isn’t live yet. It’s coming … soon.
When exactly “soon” is, no one knows. There’s no date, but there is a waitlist so you can be among the first to try it out.
What You Can Already Do Right Now
In case you can’t wait to create your apps or use case, you can create Rovo Agents, your virtual team-mates, to help you with tasks and automations for your processes. Do you want to know how? Take a look at our Confluence automation article. If you’re a developer, there’s Rovo Dev to create a Forge app right now. Those tools are already available today.
Until Rovo Studio’s app-building goes live, use the time to think of the use cases you want to cover and build first.
For example, one thing we’ll definitely create is an app that allows us to track the success of our events. The app will scan our event pages, analyze the data table on the page, and then create a dashboard with different metrics on how successful the event was.
Another idea we have in mind is to create a dashboard for us to get an overview of our latest published content, content we have ‘in production’, and content that is planned.
Use the time to analyze your idea (what it needs to do, what is the outcome, what is your goal) so you can start with Rovo Studio once it’s available.
