Remote Work and Flexible Hours

3 min read / /

We don’t want to tell our team how to work, because we believe in their capability. Through the power of modern technology, there’s no reason to limit ourselves to one singular workspace, or exact work time for that matter! Although we love collaborating in the office, working remotely on a customizable timeframe opens many doors that wouldn’t be possible otherwise.

Why We Work Like This

You’re probably familiar with all the benefits of remote work, but just in case, you can get a rundown here.

What makes remote work special at K15t? Let’s take a look!

  • Work from anywhere: Our team members don’t just have the ability to work from home, but they can work from anywhere. This enables us to spend extended time with family who lives far away, or also to travel and have a “workation.” Check out more in our blog post, Work from Anywhere.

  • No borders: Our talent pool isn’t limited to people who reside in Germany. We work together with a company called WorkMotion that enables us to employ people all over the world. Of course, time zones have to be considered depending on what kind of work is being done.

  • Flexible working hours: As long as it works for your team, your schedule can be relatively flexible. Just take this with a grain of salt.

  • Employee retention: For some of our colleagues, if it wasn’t for the ability to have remote work, they wouldn’t have been able to stay within the company. Luckily for us and for them, moving homes didn’t mean that they also had to change their jobs.

How We Stay Connected

  • Personal bonds: Nobody should feel left out. So you may be asking yourself, if so many people are working from different places, how do we ensure that there is still a team feeling? Our real key to maintaining personal bonds is what we call “Team Week.”

  • Everyday connection: Regular communication through Slack and Zoom are just the basics for team connection at K15t. Confluence is our best friend and is where all of our documentation lives. On a daily basis, we use Confluence to collaborate with each other, share internal information, and house important databases.

We also commit to open and honest communication, a thorough onboarding process, and regular feedback from our team members.

Keeping it in Mind

We're big supporters of enabling everyone to work where and when they want. But, it’s important to keep in mind that remote work may not be the perfect solution for every job or individual. That being said, for many people and organizations, remote work offers numerous advantages that make it worth trying. We wouldn’t be as successful if it weren’t for our motivated team, strong communication, and remembering our core company values.
