This year, the tekom/tcworld conference – the specialist conference for technical communication – is taking place virtually which means a completely new experience for all of us. Nevertheless, it's still a great opportunity to find out what's new on the market.
For example, we have refined our Enlite approach and would like to show you how to:
- Create and maintain content with our Scroll Apps in Confluence.
- Publish content in an online help center.
- How to directly connect your customer support via a service desk.

But before the event gets started, here are a few tips on how to make a virtual event really fun and get the most out of it.
How to make the most of the Conference
You sit on the sofa, the notebook in front of you, with a strong coffee in your hand. *ping* on the dot at 9am the pop-up window for the first talk opens – tekom/tcworld 2020 is about to begin, but in a completely new way. Whether you are sitting at home, on the train or at your workplace, you are part of a conference with thousands of participants, even if it doesn't feel like it at first.
Be sure to check you have a stable internet connection in advance.
Create the Right Environment
What do you particularly like about tekom/tcworld? Good talks, valuable information, a nice chat at the exhibition stands with coffee or sweets to take away? Why don't you brew yourself a pot of fresh coffee or tea and put some biscuits on the table. And since there will be no trade fair party this year, why not have a after-fair-drink in the fridge🍺.

Do you meet the same people every year at the evening fair party? Then make an appointment for a group video call after work.
Set the Scene
What does a good virtual conversation look like? Check your sound and turn on your camera. Our experience shows that it makes each attendee feel good when participants can "look each other in the eye". Find a nice background (or choose a virtual one) and put yourself in the right light.
Get out there and meet other participants and exhibitors. K15t will have a virtual stand where you can ask us about Enlite, or anything else. Come along and say 'hi', we'd love to chat!
Make sure the room you're in is well-lit so the person on the other end of the video call can easily recognise you.
The Mystery of SWAG
Oh yes, everyone loves collecting SWAG from events! You stop at a booth for a nice chat and a quick coffee, then BAM! A pen, mug, a much sought-after K15t t-shirt and a pair of new socks ends up in your fair bag. Not this year, all that remains is a SWAG-detox.

The Setup is Ready
Your desk is sorted, the drinks are ready, and then you're ready to go. Don't forget to set up your event profile. You will have the opportunity to do this before the conference. The more detailed your profile, the more likely you are to meet interesting participants. It also increases your chances of being approached by exhibitors or participants whose interests you really share.
Make a plan so that you do not miss a talk. Add the talk to your calendar so the time is blocked and you don't forget to attend.
Get into Conversation
