Atlassian Spirit at First K15t TeamTalk
With our new event series K15t TeamTalks we want to share the Atlassian spirit with the Stuttgart community and offer great talks on technologies, services, specific application use cases, and other topics. On Thursday, November 22, we hosted our very first event in our comfy office kitchen.
On the agenda: What is the Atlassian Playbook and how can it help your team? And: How can you improve your company's workflow with only two tools?
Less Process, More Guidance with a Team Playbook
The evening began with Atlassian expert Sven Peters, who shared with the audience the advantages of having a playbook that guides teams through difficult situations. It was invented by Atlassian to help teams be more agile and creative, to speed-up decision-making, and to avoid project disasters.
Sven's personal favorite game from the playbook sounded very intriguing: a trip to the future! In 'Premortem' you get everyone together before you start working on a project and imagine all the things that could make it fail disastrously. This way, you can prepare for, and actually avoid, the problems that could impact the project negatively.

Innovation at Swiss Federal Railways
Up next was Andreas Wieczorek from Swiss Federal Railways. He explained how the implementation of Jira and its add-on Xray massively improved the efficiency for his team of test engineers as well as the people they collaborate with.
He talked about the challenges he and his team were facing before and how he convinced his boss that a new tool was necessary. Jira's transparency even turned a colleague who wasn't keen on working with a new tool at all into a Jira advocate.
All in all, attendees, speakers, and K15t employees enjoyed discussing, chatting, and networking with good food and cold drinks.
After this first event, we're already excited about the next TeamTalk on January 31, 2019. It's called 'Git Together' and we hope you and your colleagues will join us!
