h1. Configuring Scroll Themes

*Applicable to Scroll 1.1*

{note}You must be logged in with administrative privileges in Confluence in order to configure Scroll themes.{note}

{info}Please note that Scroll Themes are completely independent from Confluence's themes. Scroll themes only affect the exported documents.{info}

h2. Managing Themes

h3. Accessing the Theme Configuration

Scroll themes can be configured on global (system-wide) and on space-level.

For global theme configuration:
* Go to the admin console (click Browse > Confluence Admin)
* Under Look and Feel select Scroll Theme Config.

For space-level configuration:
* Go to the space admin UI (click Browse > Space Admin)
* Under Look and Feel select Scroll Theme Config.

As a result of this you should see a list of themes.


h3. Adding a new Theme
To add a new theme,
# Access the Theme Configuration ([Learn How|#Accessing the Theme Configuration]).
# Click 'Configure new theme'.
# Fill out the form:
#* The *Name* will be displayed in a select box to the users on the [Configuring the Export|Configuring the Export#Formatting].
#* The *Description* is optional.
#* In *Theme Template* select a theme template. Scroll comes with 3 pre-installed theme templates:
#** Classic Handbook Template (has a separate title page, suitable for printed manuals)
#** Classic Article Template (suitable for internal documents such as specifications, design documents, reports)
#** Modern Article Template (suitable for internal documents such as specifications, design documents, reports)


h3. Disabling a Theme
To disable a theme,
# Access the Theme Configuration ([Learn How|#Accessing the Theme Configuration]).
# Locate the theme in the list and click on 'Disable'.


h3. Editing a Theme
To edit a previous created theme,
# Access the Theme Configuration ([Learn How|#Accessing the Theme Configuration]).
# Locate the theme in the list and click on 'Edit'.
# Edit the values the form.
# Click 'Save' to confirm your changes.

Please note: Scroll's preset themes cannot be edited.


h3. Deleting a self-made Theme
To delete previously created theme,
# Access the Theme Configuration ([Learn How|#Accessing the Theme Configuration]).
# Locate the theme in the list and click on 'Delete'.

Please note: Scroll's preset themes cannot be deleted, but only disabled.

Scroll allows to plug in custom theme templates, which provide very powerful theming option by using so-called DocBook customization layers. More information: [Developer Guide].
